Please join us for the third teach-in organized by the NYC Stands with Standing Rock Collective titled, “No Bans on Stolen Lands.” Tying the #NoDAPL movement with opposition against the Muslim/Immigrant/Refugee Ban, we are interested in linking these struggles to talk about a major intersection of US empire. We are bringing people who are thinking and organizing at these intersections:

Brandon Benallie (Diné & Hopi), The Red Nation

Paula Chakravartty and James McMaster, NYU Sanctuary

Jaskiran Dhillon, The New School

Amin Husain & Nitasha Dhillon, Decolonize This Place

María Josefina Saldaña-Portillo, New York University

Brent Stonefish (Lunaapeew Nation at Delaware Nation — Moravian of the Thames)

Moderated by Dean Saranillio, New York University

This is free and open to the public! Please RSVP at

This event is organized as part of the NYC Stands with Standing Rock Collective with generous support from the NYU Native American and Indigenous Students’ Group, Native Studies Forum, Department of Social and Cultural Analysis, and the Asian/Pacific/American Institute at NYU.
