Presentation and Q&A with traveler Dominik Ilichman
Are you curious how two Czech students wound up in an Ethiopian prison? Would you like to know how to go on a safari for $3.00? Are you dreaming about adventures but cannot take the first step? Just wait, this talk could become your motivation to make the leap.
Two young Czech students, Dominik and Adam, had colorful dreams that they were willing to make come true. After a first big trip on a train from Moscow to Hanoi, they decided to keep going.
With a low budget and courage to face obstacles, Dominik and Adam backpacked on a great adventure through the grand terrain of Africa in 2016. Their travels brought them to Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. Their colorful socks tagged along with them for the couple of months and were sure to make picture appearances on social media and a travel blog.
From here Dominik and Adam founded the project “Socks Traveling” to spread the idea of budget independent travel and encourage their peers to take a backpack and explore the world.
The duo has done more than 40 presentations all round the Czech Republic. This time — for the first time — they are bringing their stories abroad to New York City.
