The Boardlords began in 2000 in Port Chester, NY, writing, recording and performing songs, videos and shorts in the spirit of true rebel music. Since recording their self titled debut album, the Boardlords have been coined “the hardest working punk band“ in their area by other local musicians, and have performed at such venues as Garcia’s at the Capital in Port Chester, NY, CBGB, Continental, Arlene's Grocery, Trash Bar (Brooklyn), Summer X-Games, Skatopia in Ohio, The U.S. and VT Open of Snowboarding, Stratton, VT, Winter X-Games, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, NV, and a tour of Northern and Southern California and Heavenly, Nevada. They also performed live on the legendary Pat Duncan Show on WFMU, NJ.
The Boardlords were named Fairfield County’s “Best Band” by the Fairfield County Weekly’s Reader’s Poll.
For nearly two decades and hundreds shows, The Boardlords have performed with countless acts including Agent Orange, DI, McRAD, Big World, Gang Green, 76% Uncertain, Killing Time, Sub-Zero, and Murphy’s Law, to name a few.
Their 4 self-produced full-length albums, «The Boardlords», «Ride Again», «Wax Museum» and “Boardlords, Again”have been licensed to MTV2 «HeadBanger's Ball» and «Rob & Big» as well as Fusion TV, and the Resort Sport network's «Steezin TV” and have sold over 4000 copies.
In addition to their music, The Boardlords have also been writing, acting, and directing. They have three full-length MOCumentaries, music videos, and several shorts including the epic drama of how the band kicked the first guitar player out (in Spanish) and parodied Raiders of the Lost Ark and “Punk My Ride.” (As seen on vimeo.com, and youtube.com).
The latest album, Boardlord’s, Again, is a collaboration of tracks written by all of the members and, as a result, has a broad spectrum of styles, rhythm and energy – all of which remain true to their high speed, high energy, ripping guitar lines, shout out the chorus and toast to life theme that has been exuberating from The Boardlords for over a decade. YOUTH POSSE, a comedic psych-rock band from New York City, is the forgotten lovechild of Phish and Warren Zevon – abandoned on the side of the road, to be raised by their alt-rock heroes in Ween.
The Posse is not afraid to genre-bend, nor are they afraid to explore taboo subject matter such as beastiality, fog machine-related pregnancy, or getting an 8th avenue massage.
