Beekeeper Jean-Marie Posner leads the final Bee Whispering program of the season on National Honeybee Day, part of an international campaign to build awareness and support for those who depend on honeybees in agriculture and the commercial production of their products, and the protection of this species for future generations through sustainable apiculture practices.

Observe how to tap honey from the Honey Flow™ hive.
Learn how to harvest honey in the traditional method.
11:30 – 12:30 Honey Harvest in Castle Gould’s Black Box
Learn how bees make honey in an interactive presentation and discover the qualities of honey, including Manuka honey.
Meet three local beekeepers who will tell their beekeeping stories. Sample their honey, and buy a jar or two.
Harvest demonstration – learn how to harvest honey, right off the honeycomb.
Honey-tasting for everyone – compare samples from several sources.
As a precaution, wear long sleeves, long pants, closed shoes, and tie up long hair.
Members: $10 per car
