Madison author Ann Huber visits Short Stories to celebrate her new memoir, Lost and Found.

Lost and Found is Huber's harrowing memoir of displacement and resilience in the face of trauma.

At nine Ann was whisked away in the dead of night from her childhood home in Haifa, Israel. Leaving behind her beloved grandmother, her family immigrated to Montreal, Canada. The new culture, with different languages, customs, and multiple dominant religions left Ann utterly lost as she struggled to adapt without losing herself.

When she meets the love of her life at a young age, she learns that his family’s history of displacement and survival during the Holocaust parallels her own. As Ann matures, has children, and her ambitions grow, she finds an inner strength.

A remarkable true story.
