Powerhouse Park Avenue-wife wannabe, Sarah Williams (Stefanie Sparks), gets hit by a taxi and survives, only to discover she’s lost her two most prized possessions – her uterus and her status as a socialite. With the help of an unexpected new friend, Melinda (Jenni Ruiza), Sarah comes face to face with the harsh reality of her fabricated life.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:
Stefanie Sparks has been working in film for half her life. In Case of Emergency is Stefanie’s second feature film. Her first feature, Cathy Coppola (2013), was partially funded by the Jerome Foundation’s New York Filmmaker’s grant. Cathy Coppola screened at Toronto’s Female Eye Film Festival and Brooklyn Girl Film Festival and was nominated for Best in Show at both. In 2015 Stefanie founded Fireball Films NYC in order to give opportunities to other young female filmmakers who might otherwise not have the financial means to continue their filmmaking career. Later this year, Stefanie will award a Fireball Film Grant to 1-3 young female filmmakers in the greater NYC area between the ages of 16 and 23 who are not currently enrolled in a film school due to financial constraints but have made at least one short film. The grants of $1,000 each will go towards their second short film.
