The Impromptu! Classical Music Recital Series is sponsored by The Drozdoff Society in cooperation with our partners in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut

PLEASE NOTE: MANY of you are TEACHERS and other seasoned professionals who HAVE BEEN SENT THIS INVITATION because you might either be interested yourselves or might know of young talents who could be interested in this opportunity. There are no age limits.

********DEADLINE IS 04/14/2018, BUT WE ARE ACCEPTING********

The Drozdoff Society was founded in 2015 for a very singular but multi-faceted purpose: to introduce to the world, through performance, recording, publication, education, and other means of promulgation, the compositions of Russian-American pianist-composer Vladimir Drozdoff. Our stated mission also makes a commitment to support those individuals and organizations who are interested in Drozdoff’s legacy.

Many musicians in Russia, Austria, Australia, Romania, Italy, Serbia, Germany, and the United States have successfully performed Drozdoff’s music recently, and we anticipate the their numbers will continue to grow.

We are now sponsoring the Impromptu! Classical Music Recital Series and showcase some of his compositions in every concert.

THE 2018-2019 SEASON
We will continue to host paid performances by select artists we have invited to the Series.

In addition, the IMPROMPTU! DROZDOFF AUDITION can open the doors to applicants looking for performance opportunities as follows:

Up to six (6) performers will be awarded performance tours at up to four venues over the course of one or two weeks (St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Red Bank, New Jersey; First Presbyterian Church in Stamford, Connecticut; Lyric Hall Theater in New Haven, Connecticut; and the Grand Prize Winner will also perform at Engelman Recital Hall at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in Manhattan) in the concert season beginning October 2018 and ending May 2019. The Drozdoff Society may also award additional national or international performance opportunities, in the same or future performance seasons, acceptance of which will be at the winner’s discretion.

In addition to the performance at Baruch Performing Arts Center, the GRAND PRIZE includes a cash award of $1000.

Performances will be conditioned upon production of the necessary visa, evidence of U.S. citizenship, or evidence of full-time U.S. residence status no later than 60 days before a scheduled tour. Invitation letters will be provided by The Drozdoff Society upon request.

The compositions of Vladimir Drozdoff are almost exclusively for solo piano or for voice with piano, but we welcome all instruments and transcriptions in this Audition.

If a musician is interested in auditioning to perform in the Impromptu! Series, they will be invited to read Drozdoff’s scores and prepare 15 minutes minimum (no maximum limitation) of Drozdoff repertoire, which they will record in a video, and submit via DVD or Youtube link to [email protected] On the video, the performer's face and hands should be exposed. In addition, they should also record 15-20 minutes of their proposed program other than Drozdoff’s music, and propose a complete program for their tour, and provide a brief biography, resume, or C.V. The Drozdoff Society’s Executive Committee will review all submitted materials. The deadline for submitting applications is April 14, 2018. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2018.

• There is a $100 non-refundable application fee, payable via Paypal, credit card, or personal/business check. Write to us via Messenger for details.
• All costs of transportation and accommodation will be the responsibility of the performer.
• All awarded performances-by-audition are on a non-honorarium basis.
