Strand has partnered with the wonderful New York Public Library at the Schomburg Center in Harlem to present Patrisse Cullors to celebrate the release of her memoir When They Call You a Terrorist. The co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement will detail her involvement in the movement early on, and will also explain what the movement looks like now.
In a time of divisive action and a volatile political climate, a group of loving women seeking justice for victims rose up, creating the Black Lives Matter movement. They have been called everything from heroes to terrorists that are a threat to America. Now, Patrisse Cullors is sharing her much desired and empowering story of survival, strength, and endurance.
Join us as Patrisse shares her memoir and her reflections on humanity.
