The mighty Fania Records presents a stacked lineup tonight at the 'days. Bosq is a Boston DJ and producer who first gained recognition as one half of the edit duo Whiskey Barons, but he's built quite a catalogue on his own, releasing irrepressible grooves that pull from Afro-Latin music, disco, house, hip hop and reggae. Uproot Andy is co-founder of the legendary tropical bass soiree Que Bajo; Sabine Blaizin is a fierce selector who champions house, afrotech, Haitian roots and other diasporic tunes; and Austin Lebrón is a Queens-based DJ and producer who slings an electrifying blend of Jersey club, salsa, trap and Latin jazz. In the back yard, DJ Turmix will play boogaloo, salsa and Latin soul under an open sky… starting at 6pm. He's a native of Barcelona and a selector who has spent more than two decades rocking dance floors and hosting radio shows both here and abroad. Inside or out tonight, you're guaranteed to be in good hands — and spirits.
Nowadays is an indoor and outdoor gathering place on the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood. We've got a full bar, a kitchen, a nice sound system, a wood dance floor and lots of trees and house plants.
Most of the time, it's free to come to Nowadays, but we do have a cover for some of our nighttime events. If there's a cover but you're a little tight on dough, you can buy early bird tickets on RA, or RSVP for reduced entry on Fridays and Saturdays at nowadays.nyc/rsvp
We want Nowadays to be a comfortable space for everyone. Please treat everyone with respect when you're here. If someone says or does anything to make you feel uncomfortable, let us know. All of our bartenders, security, managers, sound staff and door staff can help you.
Also, for the sake of the vibe, please don't take pictures or use your phone on or around the dance floor.
Thanks! And we look forward to seeing you soon.
