On the day the Supreme Court issues its decision in Janus v. AFSCME, join union activists in Foley Square, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., for a protest rally (or, if there’s a miracle, a celebration).
The decision is likely to be announced any Monday or Thursday of this month. (Possible dates: Thursday, June 14; Monday, June 18; Thursday, June 21; Monday, June 25 and Thursday, June 28.)
Currently, the rally is scheduled on Facebook for the next possible date that a decision could be announced. There’s no way to know ahead of time when a certain decision will be announced. As soon as the decision is announced, we will update the day and time of the event. Stay tuned on Facebook.
We will show that our unions will not be cowed by attempts to destroy workers’ organized power. We will come together in the oldest and strongest form of power: collective action. We will remind the City, State, and Nation that regardless of how Janus is decided, New York is a still a union town.
All union members, both public-sector and private, as well as all working people, including family, friends and colleagues are invited. A negative Janus decision is an attack on us all. Join us!
